MPLADS

The Members of Parliament Local Area Development Scheme (MPLADS) scheme gives Members of Parliament the ability to recommend the creation of durable community assets in their constituencies based on local needs.

Smt. Nirmala Sitharaman’s MPLADS projects reflect a philosophy of long-term community empowerment through knowledge, sustainability, and innovation. Her initiatives span diverse areas — from supporting start-ups, incubation centres, and advanced educational facilities, to supporting farmers through training and agro-processing facilities. In line with national priorities, her work has included supporting the rejuvenation of 75 lakes in Kolar district, Karnataka under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Mission Amrit Sarovar. Across initiatives, the emphasis has been on creating durable assets that strengthen local opportunities while contributing to national goals.
